I have learnt of a plan to build three hundred houses on the land called Parson"s Place by the football ground. Few people know about this new plan to increase the size of our town. The Opera House was built by the New South Wales Government, which organized an international competition for a design for the complex. It was won in 1957 by the Danish architect, Jorn Utzon.

The complex stands on Sydney Harbour. It took about 19 years and ＄102 million to plan, build, equip and furnish.

The construction proceeded in three stages: stage 1 was the building of the foundation, stage 2 was the construction of the shell roofs, and stage 3 was the building of the interiors.
