Sometimes you’ll hear people say that you can’t love others until you love yourself. Sometimes you’ll hear people say that you can't expect someone else to love you until you love yourself. Either way, you’ve got to love yourself first and this can be tricky. Sure we all know that we’re the apples of our parents’ eyes, and that our Grandmas think we’re great talents and our Uncle Roberts think that we will go to the Olympics, but sometimes it’s a lot harder to think such nice thoughts about ourselves. If you find that believing in yourself is a challenge, it is time you build a positive self-image and learn to love yourself. Self-image is your own mind’s picture of yourself. This image includes the way you look, the way you act, the way you talk and the way you think. Interestingly, our self-images are often quite different from the images others hold about us. Unfortunately, most of these images are more negative than they should be. Thus changing the way you think about yourself is the key to changing your self-image and your whole world. The best way to defeat a passive self-image is to step back and decide to stress your successes. That is, make a list if you need to, but write down all of the great things you do every day. Don’t allow doubts to occur in it. It very well might be that you are experiencing a negative self-image because you can’t move past one flaw or weakness that you see about yourself. Well, roll up your sleeves and make a change of it as your primary task. If you think you’re silly because you aren't good at math, find a tutor. If you think you’re weak because you can't run a mile, get to the track and practice. If you think you are dull because you don't wear the latest trends, buy a few new clothes. But remember, just because you think it doesn't mean it's true. The best way to get rid of a negative self-image is to realize that your image is far from objective, and to actively convince yourself of your positive qualities. Changing the way you think and working on those you need to improve will go a long way towards promoting a positive self-image. When you can pat(拍)yourself on the back, you’ll know you’re well on your way. Good luck! 3. How should you change your self-image according to the passage? A. To keep a different image of others. B. To make your life successful. C. To understand your own world. D. To change the way you think.

A、A. To keep a different image of others.

B、B. To make your life successful.

C、C. To understand your own world.

D、D. To change the way you think.

C is sometimes referred to as a 'high -level(66)language'. Some people think that's an insult, but it's actually a deliberate and significant aspect of the language. If you have(67)in assembly language, youll probably find C very natural and comfortable(although if you continue to focus too heavily on machine - level details, youll probably end up with unnecessarily non- portable programs). If you havent programmed in assembly language, you may be frustrated by C 's lack of certain higher - level features. In either case, you should understand why C was de- signed this way: so that seemingly - simple constructions expressed in C would not expand to arbitrarily expensive(in time or(68))machine language constructions when(69). If you write a C program simply and succinctly, it is likely to result in a succinct, efficient machine language executable. If you find that the(70)resulting from a C program is not efficient, it's probably because of something silly you did, not because of something the compiler did behind your back which you have no control over. In any case, there's no point in complaining about C's low - level flavor: C is what it is.

A.assembly

B.combination

C.grouping

D.compounding

听力原文: In the Netherlands and Belgium children do not have their fun and presents on Christmas Day as we do. They go to church on Christmas Day, and they have their fun on St. Nicholas Day, which comes on December 6. The night before, they fix something to hold their gifts. Sometimes it is a well-polished shoe, sometimes a plate or a basket, and sometimes they hang up their stockings just as we do. St. Nicholas rides a gray horse or a white donkey and so the children leave water for the animal to drink and something for it to eat. They leave hay or oats or a carrot, and sometimes a piece of bread. In the morning, if they have been good, they find that St. Nicholas has left sweets and fruits and playthings for them. But if they have been bad they find only a rod or a switch.

听力原文: People from different cultures sometimes do things that make each other uncomfortable, sometimes without realizing it. Most Americans have never been out of the country and have very little experience with foreigners. But they are usually spontaneous, friendly and open, and enjoy meeting new people, having guests and bringing people together formally or informally. They tend to use first names in most situations and speak freely about themselves. So if your American hosts do something that makes you uncomfortable, try to let them know how you feel. Most people will appreciate your honesty and try not to make you uncomfortable again. And you'll all learn something about another culture!

Many travelers find it easier to meet people in the US than in other countries. They may just come up and introduce themselves or even invite you over before they really know you.

Sometimes Americans are said to be superficially friendly. Perhaps it seems so, but they are probably just having a good time. Just like anywhere else, it takes time to become real friends with people in the US.

If and when you stay with American friends, they will probably enjoy introducing you to their friends and family, and if they seem proud to know you, it's probably because they are. Relax and enjoy it!

(27)

A.How to deal with Americans.

B.The cultural heritage of Americans.

C.How to do business with Americans.

D.How to travel to America.
